In Defense of the Hard Drive by James M. Rosenbaum

James Rosenbaum wrote this article, In Defense of the Hard Drive, for our Winter 2001 issue, and we thought our web readers might find it interesting. In order to make it appear on our web site exactly as it appears in the print version of the Green Bag, we've decided to make his article available in Adobe'sŪ Portable Document Format. Providing the file in PDF also allows you to print out the review on your laser printer in what we consider to be a rather appealing form (before you do so, you should certainly read our Copyright Notice and Terms of Use). As a result of our extensive survey (asking our friends) and analysis (talking it over), we have concluded that most people have browsers that support PDF files. If your browser does not, you should proceed immediately to Adobe Systems in order to obtain a free version of their Acrobat ReaderŪ software. We think it is worth the time it will take to download and install. Until you do, you will be missing out on some of the best content the Web has to offer (including, incidentally, this article).
